On August 1, 2022, the Secretary General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres, during a conference with the member countries of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), declared: "The world is one miscalculation away from nuclear annihilation, So far we've been extraordinarily lucky."

Life on planet Earth is at risk, it always has been, to the 5 previous mass extinctions now climate change and nuclear risk are added. Humanity needs to have a backup plan, that plan is to become an interplanetary species; we are at the dawn of the colonization of space.

This book contains 2 parts, the first deals with the imminent colonization of the Moon, where we will analyze in detail the reasons, objectives and technological, scientific and economic components of NASA's Artemis space program, which is the cornerstone of the most expensive and ambitious task ever undertaken by human beings.

The second part is focused on the colonization of Mars, what we have learned about the red planet with the main existing robotic missions, and the detailed development of the plans of SpaceX and Elon Musk, who are at the technological and economic vanguard of this immense project; with the advantage that they also have a clear objective: to create the first Martian city by 2050.
